6x increase in subscribers?

by Keith Baxter on July 30, 2010

Yesterday, I added Subcribers Magnet to Affiliate Radio for testing.

In 24 hours, I’ve had a 6x increase in Aweber confirmed subscriptions!

Here’s the breakdown:

20 optins from comments
4 optins from post
12 optins from the footer ad
5 from sidebar and optin page combined

I average 5 optins per day via the sidebar and optin page. I realize that’s not impressive, but I’m not complaining as I don’t promote this blog what-so-ever.

My next test is to add this to a blog that IS promoted heavily and get people into an autoresponder sequence based on this technology.

This is the wild west for those willing to do the work.

Gun to my head money

by Keith Baxter on July 30, 2010

I realize that there are a few people who are struggling to make money online.

If that’s you, then this guide will be a huge help.

I’m not going into details, but rather giving you just what you need without the fluff.

Ready?

1. Find a product to promote with quick, reliable, and easy payouts. But even more importantly, something with mass appeal.

An offer that I’ve been promoting lately is Hollywood Psychics.

showban.asp?id=23040&img=hp 300x250 email Gun to my head moneyCheck out this research data:

Keyword_Phrase,Competing_Pages,Daily_Searches,Expected_Daily_Clicks,Expected_CPC
“psycic”,47900,1331,560,0.00
“free psychic question”,11700,266,112,0.00
“psychic eye”,39600,266,112,0.00
“authentic psychic readings”,3980,216,91,0.00
“psycics”,28200,216,91,0.00
“clairvoyant readings”,31500,177,75,0.00
“psychic interactive”,46600,177,75,0.00

Notice that I’m dealing with some misspellings!

Also, a misspelling with 47,900 competing pages AND 1331 search per day is PURE GOLD.

2. Create a site with the intent of getting people to click over to your offer.

Site structure -

Wordpress with Headway, Thesis, or Frugal themes works well.

Create a PAGE with a presale.

The PRESALE is key… you want to speak as if you’ve used the service that you are promoting. Talk about YOUR experience and the benefits that YOU received.

Set that page as the home page in Wordpress and create another page called BLOG. This will be your blog.

3. Setup Google Alerts for the company name that you are promoting as well as the top generic terms you are focused on.

In this case, the terms that I would set in Alerts are Hollywood Psychics and Psychics.

The idea here is to get news items and other blogs talking about these topics.

From this point, you will become a reporter in that marketplace. You will watch the news and report on it on your blog.

You can follow the Goobert/Nano process and comment on the source first and then post the news item WITH your commentary to your blog.

If you need an example, look at my CIA post below, I am simply commenting on an article.

You should spend 5 to 15 min per day on this tops.

4. Initiate a linking campaign.

Links are key, but links over time is what’s important. Let’s call this link momentum. Start with a few links per day and work up from there over 3 months or so. Don’t overlook this… it’s vital.

5. Setup a CPV campaign.

In order to refine your conversion process, you can bid on the contact us and order URL’s of your competitors.

To do this, simply search for your keyword in Google, visit the top 10 results, copy their contact us link as well as their order links.

These URL’s will be used in your campaign.

What if your site isn’t converting?

Install the Visual Website Optimizer Wordpress plugin and setup some split tests (I have the $127/mo option, but the smaller package is fine).

Test the creatives (banners) being used as well as elements of your presale.

That’s pretty much it… I follow the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) model.

If I can’t make it work after 2-3 weeks, then I move on to something else.

CIA Invest in ‘Future’ of Web Monitoring

July 29, 2010

The article in full can be read at http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2010/07/exclusive-google-cia/.
Read it first and then read my comments…
The investment arms of the CIA and Google are both backing a company that monitors the web in real time — and says it uses that information to predict the future.
Nice… predictive search. Nothing new there… but the [...]

Perpetual Traffic Formula – Real or Hype?

July 28, 2010

In 2005, Ryan Deiss and I held a series of expensive workshops together.
Many ‘gurus’ got their starts at these events (you would know their names).
When hosting these workshops, ideas from the two of us flowed like water, making each of these events almost magical.
I have a ton of respect for Ryan.
Today, his Perpetual Traffic Formula [...]
